Vested Crew Member question
Hi everyone,
I just swore in today and got my A-school date for OS. I'm pretty sure its called the Vested Crew Member program but that might be something else. Its within about 8 months of basic, but I've been told that's subject to change, I could go from boot to A immediately or wait the whole 8 months. Apparently I'll be sent to my first unit, go to a school, then come back. If anyone has done a guaranteed A-school for for operations specialist, what is life like during that period? Is it typical non rate stuff? Or will I get some relevant OS training? Also, do I get a dream sheet at basic? I heard that OS's mainly do CIC on a cutter or command center at a sector, so will I get a different list of options for the dream sheet that pertain to those assignments? Last thing: what type of quals would I work on during this time? Thanks for any help.
