Farming raw engineering materials

Hey all,

I’m trying to farm the raw engineering materials needed for my new Mandalay and getting frustrated with brain trees. Reading a lot of conflicting advice from about a year ago as to whether it’s a viable method or not.

Firstly having trouble finding the big patches. Really nooby question, but if it’s dark and they don’t show up in contacts, how do you find them?

Then I’m having the collector limpet problem. They just die straight away, maybe I got one or two after blasting them.

I tried getting in my SRV but they all just got stuck in trees and I couldn’t collect them driving under them like I read from some people.

I saw another vid on crystal shard farming but he said you just have to look for them and I’m not convinced I’d be able to see them, especially if it was at night if they don’t show up as a contact.

I’m assuming I’m doing something wrong though!

Titan drive component stress!

Hey, so I’m trying to get the PESCO for my new Mandalay that I’m going to take exploring soon. Only thing left to get was the TDC so I’m in Sol flying around for a couple of hours doing a combination of reforging and bashing stuff to try and chance a respawn. See a titan heart, think that’s neat so grab it then 20 mins later I get a hatch breaker limpet alert.

Little sod knackers my hatch then…look at my contact and see the Titan Drive Component right in front of me but my cargo hatch is broken!! Devastated!

I sit there for a few minutes sulking, then another alert but this time for a repair limpet!! Wasn’t expecting that. Devastated to elated by two different limpets!! 😂😂

Hi all,

I recently completed my Hill and Moorland Leader training and one of the pieces of advice I was given to address before I do my assessment is to walk in some more varied areas. The vast majority of my walks so far have been in the Lakes or Peaks, so the instructor recommended the Yorkshire Dales or Moors.

I’ve not done much (if anything) in those areas so was looking for advice on walks to plan and places to stay and use as a base. Walks need to be at least 4 hours and require some navigation (so not following marked trails).

If anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it.

Thanks
