Fellow science teachers,

A few questions about PAT testing of your practical equipment please!

  1. Who does your PAT testing? Your site team, external contractors, or your technicians?

  2. Who pays for your PAT testing? Is it a department cost?

I'm a HOD, fighting for it to not fall to our technicians (very important) and our dept budget. If you have experience of this and have advice on fighting costs being pushed onto your budget please let me know.

Edit: thanks all for your messages ❤️ a lot of what has been said aligns with what we have been doing for years (e.g. techs move items to room), so this is very reassuring. I fought this a few years ago but new H&S management means I'm starting the battle again.
