Back during the early pandemic days of Zoom University, there was a math professor who caused quite a stir. I remember him having a YouTube channel for the purpose of posting lectures. I think the reason all this started in the first place was because he was uploading his lectures publicly but not removing names/faces of his students. This then caused the admins to let him know this wasn’t allowed.
Eventually, he then claimed to have written a thesis that solved some unanswered math problem. He said that the university was targeting him for this discovery and trying to fire him. He even uploaded his thesis online and I downloaded it (looked like a bunch of gibberish but I’m not a math genius so idk). Once this conflict hit full stride, he just started posting vlogs of himself saying that god gave him the info for his equation. At one point, he took a video near a bridge and threatened to jump off if his job wasn’t reinstated. I remember people on this subreddit thinking this situation was kinda weird , but it was clear that this guy was having a serious mental health crisis.
Does anyone know/remember what I’m talking about? Im no longer a student and this happened years ago, but I still think about this guy from time to time. If describing how he looks helps at all, it was a white gentleman who was in his 30s I would guess. Extensive googling doesn’t show anything.
