This is my first time playing spore and I just got to the civilization stage. I'm playing on hard mode because I didn't think things through. I'm a religious nation. The red nation almost immediately declared war on my city and I saved like right at the start. I feel like I've tried everything to not have my one city destroyed and now I don't know what to do next.

My turrets and cars are just not strong enough and they keep sending more cars and I can't fight back. I don't have enough spore bucks to pay off the red nation or ask for help from other nations. I also don't actually have any allies because I didn't have time before the war started. Do I just have to scrap my save? I really don't want to but I don't know what else to try.
