Via chat... He had to "escalate to his superiors" but had it all done and renewed in maybe 10 minutes. Dropped from $7.49 to $4.27...

So I am travelling next week on Friday to Toronto for the day. Seems like I can add 1gb and some talk/text for $15 or a 5gb and even more talk/text for $30. Currently on a $25/month unlimited starter plan.

My phone is a Samsung S22 Ultra and it supports 2 esims (1 active at a time).

Looks like I can purchase a data only eSIM from Holofly for $7.90 for 1 day (and unlimited data). Questions for those in the know:

1. Can I RCS text to other android or iphone users and will the text come from me, at my existing cell #?
2. Will I RECEIVE texts that are sent to my existing cell #?
3. Can I receive CALLS to my existing cell #, if Wifi calling is turned on when using the data only esim in Canada?
4. Can I make calls that will come from my existing cell# when using the data only eSIM if Wifi calling is on?

Other option since I will be spending most of the day at the airport is that I can be on Airport Wifi but not sure what limitations THAT would have, as above?

So I’ve decided to change to unlimited premium for an upcoming trip to Canada and switch back after. How does billing work when I make the change?

I’m on the $25 Unlimited starter plan.

I have a day trip to Toronto coming up. Looks like I can add 1GB data and 150/150 talk/text for $15.

Is there a downside to just spending the extra $4 and going to Unlimited Premium at $44 for 1 month? Looks like that gets me more data and more talk/text for just a little more $.

If I am on a grandfathered QCI8 plan will I keep that if I move back to Starter after a month?

And will calls go through even without roaming IF on Wi-Fi calling (spending most of my time at airport)? Same for RCS texts? Android phone.
