I thought I researched enough but I just got the Nokia 235 in today and am having trouble activating it on the Tello SIM which is base off T-Mobile here in the US.

I understand now out of the box it’s not compatible but it does have LTE band 5 in specs.

Nokia 235 specs model TA-1616

1, 3, 5, 8, 28, 38, 39, 40, 41

Tello specs

2, 4, 12, 5, 66, 71

Can I not run off one band?

I’m pretty proficient in tech and can edit code and flash roms and what not but not seeing much. How do I break into this phone and mess around with it lte bands?

Would they just block it via IMEI how is that regulated. I’m pretty resourceful where the entrance to the rabbit hole on all this stuff. Who’s got some good blogs or discords I can poke around in.
