I currently work as an account manager in a top 5 bank. I have been here for 10 years (different roles along the way), my boss is amazing, team is good but I’m starting to feel the day to day pressure, pissed off client calls, BS admin and growing sales targets exhausting. I feel I cannot be bothered some days.
32M - DB pension, 92k salary, bonus 17%, 3 weeks vacation. wanting to start a family but don’t feel we are financially is a great place yet for children.
New opportunity - this is a senior account manager in a government funded institution. They essentially advise and do fixed term lending only. They are known for work life balance, 3 weeks vacation, 5 personal days, Christmas off. DB pension, $110k salary, bonus 10%
I know the future financial benefits of the base salary jump ie. invest more/ larger pension etc. but what I’m looking for advice on is:
leaving after putting 10 years into the organization and what comes along with that
I love my boss, do I leverage the offer against my currently salary? Or is that a bad look on my end
any advice from someone who’s been in this situation before
