Is there a max number hours for wearing scleral lenses?

I asked my optometrist if there is a maximum number of hours I can wear my scleral lenses per day and he said no. I would think just like soft lenses, one should wear it it as little as possible and give your eyes a break. What about taking a day or two rest from wearing them regularly? Should I be worried about potential risks or harmful effects from over wearing the scleral lenses?

Crosslinking - epi on vs off

Epi on or Epi off cross linking? If you could go back in time to before you got cross linking what would you choose?
Why isn’t epi on cross linking more common?

When people find out they have keratoconus in one eye, why do doctors not do cxl on the other eye right away and wait until it likely eventually develops keratoconus (especially if the patient is young)? I get that there are risks to cxl, but waiting for the other eye to get keratoconus (more likely than not) and then having kc in both eyes sounds like a nightmare to me.
