According to the Island of Sodor book, the NWR and LMS(later BR) had a joint service that ran between Barrow-in-Furness and Norramby, half-hourly at peak times and hourly at other times.

That's a fair number of passenger trains for a branch line, this timetable is on par with Edward and Duck's branch lines and significantly more regular than Thomas' branch and the Peel Godred branch.

So what is the connection for between Ballahoo and Crovan's Gate? Goods? Wouldn't most goods go through the goods yard at Vicarstown anyway? Goods travelling from the West of the island to Norramby would still need a goods yard at Ballahoo to turn around.
