My husband and I were ready to buy our house. Went through four months of waiting to finally close, a month past our projected closing date, and all sorts of other issues. This is a manufactured home so we had to deal with all that as well, iykyk.
We did our final walk through and first of all the keys weren't there. We couldn't do the actual walk through because the sellers took the keys. However, when we first did the inspection we had a small list of things the sellers needed to fix: back siding had multiple holes and broken pieces that needed to be fixed, some pieces were flopping in the wind, the stove outlet was hanging out of the wall with no power, an outlet in the bathroom didnt have power, and a sewer drain was leaking. The sellers signed a contract saying they would fix all of this. 4 months later, we get there and the siding isn't fixed and there's no keys. Alright. Our realtor messages theirs and says that thing was all supposed to be fixed. They signed a contract saying it would be fixed before we closed. They said alright they'd fix it before we walk through the next day, again, with keys this time. We get there the next day, and yay the siding is fixed, boo its fixed with a completely different color and doesnt match the rest of the house. We go inside and check the outlets and sewer drain and none of it is fixed. We take this to our attorney and say if they dont fix this we aren't closing. They signed a contract saying they'd fix it, it needs to be fixed. They're a contracting company, it shouldn't be a problem. They come back and say they aren't going to fix it and they aren't going to credit us for hiring someone to fix it.
We pulled out of buying the house. I just want to know if this was the right move. The house worried me some because it was obviously flipped, and after seeing that I worry that the other things they did to the house weren't done correctly. They were a contracting company and they couldnt do those simple fixes? Didn't sit right with me with how much we were buying the house for.
