I joined an online trading education program that was presented as the structured starting point to learn and progress through their system.
At the time of purchase, it was presented as the proper entry path into the program.
Only after completing the initial level, I was told that continuing through the same path required additional paid upgrades for the next levels.
The issue is not that there were higher tiers. The issue is that the paid continuation structure was not clearly explained upfront in the way it was later enforced.
After purchase:
I was told the first level was only the base
I was told I needed paid upgrades to continue progressing
I was later offered installment payments for the next level
Support later contradicted that and said the first level was actually complete on its own and further levels were optional
So the contradiction is:
Sales position:
The first level is the base, and continuing the path requires paid upgrades.
Support position:
The first level is complete, and higher levels are optional.
At that point, support denied any meaningful resolution and said I had already completed the first level.
Has anyone dealt with this kind of tiered education upsell structure before?
Trying to understand whether this is normal, misleading, or something worth escalating.
