Failed MAT1341 for the 3rd time, Is there any path forward?
I'd really appreciate any help on my situation because i'm really panicking right now. I started university here as a computer engineer. I'll be honest I did not take it seriously, I ended up getting withdrawn from my faculty. I did a full 12 months as a non degree student and got re-admitted this past fall as a chemical engineer. Because my grades previously were so bad I was placed on acedemic probation starting this past winter term because my CGPA was still lower than a 5. My grades have been improving a lot though and i'm currently very close to getting a 5.
My problem is with one course, MAT1341. I took it twice during my computer engineering stint and failed both. I took it again this winter, i felt pretty good after the exam but I was pretty shocked to find out i didn't do well and got a 46.1% average on the course which is an E. since this was my 3rd attempt i'm not sure what this means for me in terms of my degree. I requested an exam review but in the event that it stays at an E is it fully over for me? am i able to do this course for a 4th time? can i do it at carelton for example? My other grades have been pretty good. A+, B, B on pretty hard courses like Intro to physics 2 and organic chemistry 1. I can't believe I failed this course i really do feel like I know well over 50% of the course content. If this was my 2nd attempt I wouldn't be as devastated but I don't know what to do since this is my 3rd attempt at this course. I have been getting better and improving my grades and study habits and this just feels like a massive punch to the gut.
