4.5 Weeks Post Op - First Steps!

Crazy that just yesterday I was asking for help here on how to transition from 2 crutches to 1 and this morning was able to walk with none! I definitely have a long way to go to correct my gait, but the fact that I can put all my weight on it now and have my arms freed feels amazing!

Transitioning Out Of Crutches Help

Hey everyone, I’m currently at 4 weeks and a couple days post op and wanted some advice on how to train yourself to get out of needing crutches. I can currently withstand about 100-120lbs on my bad leg (160lb male) but I just can’t seem to trust myself to take a step without them. Are there any exercises or things I could do to help get over that hurdle? Doctor cleared me for full weight bearing a couple days ago but my brain seems to be preventing me to trust myself.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thank you and good luck on your own recoveries!

Hey everyone! As all of you may already know, the boot gets quite stinky. I’m currently in my 1st week of wearing it (I have an Aircast and am 3 weeks post op) so I know it’ll get even worse as time progresses. With that being said, how are you guys washing your boot liner when you can’t have your foot out of it for longer than 15 minutes at a time and can’t be on your feet in this span? Thank you for the help!
