What companies are hiring their production staff? Paying hourly, w-2? Do any offer benefits? Getting paid for the entirety of the day (pay hours only from start of first day to start of last awards) good overtime?
What comps treat their staff the best? Single hotel rooms, paid travel?
I feel like being production staff with my company is really misclassified work being contracted. Even though it’s seasonal, so much of the work is decided. Pay time in blocks of 8 hours or less and 8-12 hours flat plus overtime after 12 hours but only until start of the last awards session and the last, usually hour of the day in unpaid and we received a very flow flat rate for setting up and tearing down.
I feel like so many of these companies are just barely functional in practice and I’m wondering if any of them are truly run like the mega businesses they are.
