I have one thing that I don't understand..
Many people have been talking about it, like how some countries get portrayed as overly nice and etc , saying it's not truly accurate..
I understand where they are coming from but I think that it's more of a perspective thing rather than accuracy problem.
One classic example of a country that gets portrayed as more innocent than it is, is South Korea..
Someone said "The country was a military dictatorship until 1987/1988 so they're not as innocent as some draw it."
(Surprised that people know that fact! Well it is a history community so..)
Yes.. she's right but..I don't think that historical government status translates perfectly into personality.
Like.. there are many dictatorships around the world.. Does that inherently make someone a war monger just cause they were born there??
Like if we humanise a country... isn't that the logic we are supposed to use?? I'm lost- ( ⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀)
At the end of the day I usually avoid portraying any country as bad, because I think that it ignores all the good sides of it and feels like unnecessary demonisation..
Yes, I know that fans don't usually intend to demonise anyone when they make negative portrayals, but I'm just not a fan of it.
(Honestly, I like North Korea more but I never really had a strong hate for the South. ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ )
Like at the end of the day I think it makes sense to portray her as very nice, Because I don't actually think it cancels out or truly ignores historical events..
Still, everyone has their own opinion and you can do what you want.
I don't really care that much because I usually just draw my favourites anyway!
