So I just started my 5th month of accutane today. (Day 0 and 120 above). My dosing has been 20,40,60,80 month two of 80 now (I’m 140 lbs). My derm told me that he recommends 7-8 months. Is this overkill? For some context on why I feel like this: I didn’t start out with terrible acne (I just wanted to get my skin clear once and for all after trying everything else) and my biggest problem rn is my acne scars which is a whole separate issue so I feel like my chance of relapse might be lower. I didn’t have a purge period at all and barely have side effects although they are annoying (dry skin, dry lips and dry nose). I intend to do 6 months for sure, I just think 7-8 is more than what’s needed in my case. Thoughts?
Edit: I’ve also had no active breakouts since the start of month 4 if we’re going by clearance and not cumulative dosage
