Buying a leasehold flat in Westminster with an unregistered gas meter issue.

The building used to be on a communal heating/gas system and WCC later arranged installation of individual boilers/meters. The flat has a working boiler and gas supply, but apparently the gas meter was never properly registered/adopted by a supplier (Octopus refused).

WCC says this is a “highly unusual” issue involving meter records/MPRN and Cadent/external consultants are now investigating. Other flats in the building seem to be registered normally.

Seller says gas has historically been covered via service charge.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Was it ultimately just an admin/registration issue or did it turn into expensive remedial works?
