Me and the wife are looking at trading in our 2016 Toyota RAV4 and are torn between the above listed 2026 vehicles.

The Tesla Model Y is currently seemingly in the lead due to price with rebate, FSD, tech and such but availability sucks. The EV9 seems decent for the size but not the price for us.

Does anyone have pros and cons between them all? Your thoughts or reasons why one is better over another?

We do have 2 children (6 & 9) so space is also a factor.

Any info or help is greatly appreciated!

I am considering getting the new 2026 Model Y RWD as we need to upgrade our current vehicle. The $5,000 rebate, space and storage just makes this vehicle seem like the one to get. Also Consumer Reports rates it much higher then other EVs in the same class.

My question is, when I go to order it shows the dates as August or September. I have read that if you place the order and then watch the website (closest dealership or whatever to you), if one pops up you can possibly put your name on it and get it sooner? Also it says to keep pestering your Tesla rep on the regular and they may be able to assign a VIN from what that is on its way but the financing fell through, the other party wants to delay their delivery, etc. has anyone had luck with this? Are the dates just really far out but you get your car sooner?

Any other things I should know or that anyone can tell me / help me with for this car? I have never owned a Tesla and this seems like a very decent ride after test driving it twice, once alone and once with the whole family and dog.

Let me know!
