Let's say I'm trying to save up as much as possible towards my down payment of the Launch Edition. When the configurator opens and I configure my ideal build of the Launch Green exterior with the Cloud Coast interior, will I still have until I accept delivery of the R2 to keep saving up or will I need to have the down payment ready at the time of configuration? Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is going to be my first car and I'm new to this.

I called Rivian to ask for my place in the R2 reservation queue (wishful thinking) but obviously they wouldn't tell me that. But what they did tell me is that the requests for reservation holders to indicate their preference for the Launch Edition was to gauge how many of them they should be prepared to produce in the factory. The rep also said they've been getting more interest than initially anticipated so they're considering upping production of the Launch Edition. Any reservation holders out there that said they were NOT interested in the Launch Edition?
