Switch from DPT to SAHM

Has anyone stopped working as a PT to be stay at home mom for a few years then continued working again?

I love my job and being a PT and have been working part time so love being at home with the kids also and doing school pick up/drop off.
I’m on maternity leave now and my husband thinks I should stay at home. I want to but fearful of giving up all the hard work I did for my career (and OCS) and worried that it will be hard to get back into it after 3/4 years.

We figured out with paying for a babysitter for the little while I do school drop off/ work 5 hours then pick up then head home I’ll only be net profit of like $140 a day. And that’s if we can find a nanny for $20/hr (we have a few people lined up).

Anyone do this? Or have any thoughts of how I can still feel like I’m contributing to our family financially?
