Fundamental issue with Interviews

I sat SQE 2 orals for the first time today.

Honestly, I’m at a loss why the SRA think the interview is fit for purpose and is in any way realistic or a good barometer of competency. The premise that a client will intentionally withhold information from you on a matter that they are PAYING for you help on, and they want to waste your time by not being transparent about basic information to do with a property transaction…. It bends the mind.

As well, the reasons the fees are so high for SQE 2 is because the SRA have to pay for 10s of actors and renting 10s of hotels rooms for this (was the case in Manchester anyway) for you to do this silly cat and mouse exercise.

Frustrating and flawed in many ways - can’t wait for this to be done with.
