Hey all. American here, finally got my open work permit so I now have temporary resident status while my PR application is processing. I remember when my spouse and I applied we read that if you're applying from inside Canada, you absolutely should not leave the country or else you risk getting your application voided. Is this still true even after getting temporary resident status? Do I need to stay in Canada until the permanent residency is fully granted, or would I potentially be able to go to the US and come back now that I have temp residency and not just visitor status w/a submitted application?
