dube is a horrible fielder and he drops absolute sitters, leading me to pull all my hair out. no matter what happens, he remains stationary like a rock. on the other hand, sarfaraz flies around the park and is willing to give 100% for the team. so why not play a pure batter in place of dube like sarfaraz or even kartik? even kartik (to an extent) is a better fielder and has looked in better touch with the bat too. if both kartik and sarfu can be more sensible with their shot selection then they walk into the team in place of dube (in my opinion).
the only problem with not playing dube when fielding is the loss of a bowling option. however, we have plenty of bowling options and i doubt we really need dube in that regard. we can sub him in when batting or sub out when bowling and he doesnt have to field. he used to be our impact player and i believe he was best utilised that way.
dont get me wrong, i love dube and i think he is one of the best things to happen to us in recent years. sadly he's a liability as a fielder and with important games coming up, i dont think we can afford to be sloppy in the field. what do you guys think?
