Just purchased a Korg multipoly. Help me not feel underwhelmed

I just purchased a Korg multipoly after tonnes of research. Now I have it I am feeling underwhelmed. The whole shift button for everything is hard to manage, I also find the attack not great and it’s hard to not get a slight delay when touching the keys with a lot of sounds. I also find the preprogrammed sounds pretty average.
Win me over and help me enjoy this synth more.

The keyboard fell off the stand and the power supply snapped off.
Does anyone have any tips to put it back together?
I know which connections need to be soldered back to the board but not sure how the piece of steel attatched to the plug.
