I’ve got a 2016 EcoBoost 1.6T with about 130k miles. I know coolant intrusion is a known issue with these engines, but so far, I haven’t had any signs and a couple mechanics have said it might be one of the “good ones.”

That said, I’ve been seeing some on this sub state that it is inevitable and all will experience the issue sometime down the line. Question is, is it worth still driving if it’s fully paid off and still a very fine vehicle or better start looking for something new?

Also, curious what people think about the 2022+ hybrid models in terms of reliability and ownership experience.
