Cranks but no start
Diesel x5 I’m hoping it just needs primed. It sat but was started periodically through the winter so i could do some voltage tests on circuits while cranking. A month ago it cranks but wont start. 1/8 tank fuel so i added more fuel to half tank. No start. Only thing I’ve done was remove the def system pump connector for testing. Don’t see how that could interfere with start especially after plugging it back in and clearing the code.
My next move will be to manually prime the lpfp with the battery.
Fyi, This is an e70 m57 engine. Supposedly these don’t get f’d up if you attempt a few starts with air in the line. Also i tried the ignition on/off idea to induce priming to no avail.
I’ve been to hell and back trying to get ista running on this car and only inpa worked one time. I’m using a pretty good handheld with good bmw info. Btw, i tried the special function for “bleeding the fuel pump” and got this message
Tested the fuel pump circuit and no voltage on either side of the fuse. Ekp doesn’t get power. Have yet to understand the module upstream from the ekp which is next to the battery.
Ideas please. Thank you.
