Got a DS offer from Mercor last Saturday, signed all docs, uploaded everything, and Zinc background check is still in process. Just got my engagement letter, and my contract changed from “In Review” to “Active,” but I still don’t have Slack or tool access.

Is this normal? How long does access usually take? Any insights would help.

Hey everyone,

I joined Handshake around February and was getting project invites almost every other week with plenty of work. But for the past month, work has slowed down a lot. Batches are dropping unusually, and tasks are hard to grab because there are so many people.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea why invites slowed down or tips to get new projects again?

How long does it take? I got an offer Saturday and I submitted all info they had asked. It is EOD Tuesday today and the project still shows background check in progress

Hi all, I am new to Mercor. I initially got an offer for DS role for 40 hours/week and now I received an email stating that my hours have reduced to 4 hours/week. My background verification is still ongoing and haven't started working yet. Is this common? Any particular reason this happened to me? Would appreciate any insights, thanks!

Hey everyone, I joined Handshake around mid-February and initially had a steady flow of project invites, usually one or two new projects every week, with consistent work coming in. I’ve always put in strong effort, delivered high-quality work, and stayed very active across Slack channels as well.

However, around mid-April, things suddenly slowed down significantly. Since then, I haven’t received any new project invites, and even my current projects have very limited activity.

I’m trying to understand if this is a common experience, if there’s a reason behind the slowdown, or if there’s anything I can proactively do to improve my chances of getting assigned to more work again.

Would really appreciate any insights from others who’ve experienced something similar.
