Is our federal student loan information private? I just got a letter that is essentially spam trying to get me to consolidate my loans. Titled FINAL NOTICE. And little font at the bottom disclosing it is not a government program. I am confused because it has my loan information and amount I owe. I thought this information was private. If it is, what other information of mine could have been obtained along with it?
