I haven't posted a project on Upwork for many years now (I'm mainly a freelancer) and as such I don't remember much about the process and I wonder: does Upwork even warn clients that not verifying their paying method significantly lowers their chances of getting someone qualified to apply for their job? Or that they're going to get fewer applications in general, regardless of qualification. I see lots of "payment unverified" job postings with "Less than 5" and I'm curious whether these clients know why that's the case or they think it must be something else.

edit: got lots of arguments so far: some reasonable, others not so much.

The fact remains - clients with payment unverified, will "benefit" from a freelancer bias (justified or not, is irrelevant) and Upwork should IMO inform the clients of this fact. Because it makes business sense. Right "business sense" people?

Upwork acknowledges this in some manner by requiring fewer connects to apply for such jobs, so I guess some business sense exists, but not much from most users here.
I was just wondering whether Upwork informs clients of this, but apparently this is an unpopular question. A sure way to tell when a community has become a bubble. Enjoy!
