I have found myself suddenly, temporarily, doing staff officer / bronze work for an ongoing project.
I am working alongside sergeants, sitting in meetings with CIs to C/Supts and doing a fair bit of coordination work. My boss in this temporary role has referred to the work as supervisory.
I asked if I could be made an A/PS for this, as it would make my life easier when tasking PCs. (I'm also beginning to be conscious that if the role continues longer than a few weeks then I should be paid at a sgt level for doing sgt work). I've essentially been told, "I see where you're coming from, but no."
I did voluntarily step into the role regardless of the A/PS request, as it's fantastic experience and I want to be on the project.
Thoughts as to whether to push the issue?
