Had a door knock today from a guy working for Suntria about installing solar panels on our roof. He explained the basics of the net metering scheme for DTE and that none of the upfront nor longterm maintenance costs of the panels would be on us as homeowners. An engineer from the team is coming by later to give us the report on our setup and confirm whether our house is a good candidate.

I'd love to offset these DTE rate increases, but the whole thing just seems a little too good to be true. I'm also very pro-SEU and look forward to signing up for that once the program is fully off the ground, which I feel like this would conflict with. Does anyone have any experience with DTE-based net metering or Suntria as a company? Is it a scam?
