72% in 12th Boards, ineligible for BITSAT. Need brutally honest advice: Low-tier VIT vs. NIOS/Drop for CSE in a better clg?

All I have rn is category 4/5 vit bhopal / ap for cse

I'm so confused as to what I should do now?

Should I look for clgs like kiit or srm?

72% in 12th Boards, ineligible for BITSAT. Need brutally honest advice: Low-tier VIT vs. NIOS/Drop for CSE in a better clg?

I’ve really messed up and I’m feeling completely lost right now. I got 95% in 10th, but I just found out I scored 72% in my 12th CBSE boards. Because of this, I’m not even eligible for BITSAT anymore, which was my main focus. My JEE didn't go well either. I didn't give COMEDK or other state exams because I was banking entirely on BITSAT.

Right now, my only remaining options are some local private colleges, or VIT Bhopal/AP with Category 4/5 fees.

I'm incredibly depressed, overwhelmed, and paralyzed by the situation. I’m torn between two choices and desperately need advice from seniors in the tech field:

Take the hit: Join VIT Bhopal/AP (paying high category fees) or a local private college for CSE, work my absolute ass off for 4 years, and try to build a skills-based profile.

Reset: Give 12th boards again through NIOS to clear eligibility criteria, take a drop year, and restart the entrance prep cycle.

My questions for seniors in CSE/Tech:

Will having a 72% in 12th boards permanently ruin my chances for top product-based companies, placements, or higher studies (MBA/MS) later in life, even if I excel in college?

Is it worth spending Category 4/5 fees on newer VIT campuses, or is it a better investment to take a year to reset via NIOS?

Any guidance or reality checks would mean a lot right now. Thanks.
