I’m wanting to do my masters degree one day but I’m so confused on how people afford to live while doing it??

I’m the first in my family to go to uni so I’m quite uneducated when it comes to this sort of thing, but in my case, my parents won’t help me financially after I complete my bachelors degree so I would have to fund rent and cost of living completely on my own.

Are most people just surviving off of parents money???
How many people are actually fully self funded and not losing their mind ?
