OEM M52 Camshaft Sensors not available anymore. Any other options?

Original Camshaft Sensors are not available at BMW anymore. Everybody knows that the old ones will have brittle cables under the connector, so used won't work. Aftermarket don't work either.. Is there a chance to fit in M54 Sensors or similar? Somebody knows if they are the same size and maybe just have a different connector, that can be adapted from the old one?

Neosid Helixfilter frequency Part Interchangable?

Hey everyone,

its my first post here and i dont know if im in the right Sub, so please correct me if im wrong.

I had some troubleshooting on my car, as the Remote didnt work. I narrowed it down to a little eletronic piece of what i have absolutely no clue about and never heard of before.
It is called "Neosid K6 433". I found out it is a Helix Filter and to do with receiving the signal from the fob. The Frequency is 433Mhz, which obviously is in the parts name. There are 2 Screws on it and i think they rattled itself down after 28 years and are not on the right position anymore. I dont have the equipment or knowledge to finetune that myself again, but i can solder it out and a new one in again. Are these parts interchangable easily, or is there more work to do?

Problems with Remote / Central locking? This might help

https://preview.redd.it/ufi9a1b83yvg1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f21e4b325f62c60e9becadba8c5e16ac5f5e20a4

Hi Fellas,

i had some issues with my OEM Remote. It started randomly at first, but became more and more often that the remote didnt open the car. First thing i did was checking all the locking actuators.. All work. Central locking with key was also working without any issues. Drivers door, passenger door, Petrol Cap, Trunk and glove box all unlocked together. Thats why i really didnt believe it was the GM4, but still had to be checked. I opened one of the relays to clean them and see if it makes a difference. if i clean it. Didnt.. so i bought a GM4 low, they have the same relays as GM4 high. Soldered it out and new one in. No difference. Replaced battery in the key.. same behaviour. Sometimes worked, sometimes no. Oh and locking was supposed to work worse than unlocking. So sor me it had to be Cabling or Receiver Issue.

Receiver sits in the rear view mirror, so i took it off and checked all cables for continuity, which they had. Antenna was also okay.

What i was curious about is how the signal of the remote is sent to the GM4, so i had to find out which cable does what. The connectors of the cable that comes out of the roof and from the Rearview mirror can be opened, so you can check them with a multimeter. 12V and Ground is found easily, to find out what the other do, i followed the cable colors down to the GM4. I found 3 cables that go the purple connector of the GM4 (For some it might be yellow) and handle "open", "close" and "lights on" that you can trigger with the remote key. Now i just had to check if its triggered through ground or 12V, ground just worked on the "lights on" cable, the other two didnt react. But surprise, they did with 12V! So i finally could check if the GM4 and everything behind works fine, or if the receiver doesnt work correctly. And when i manually triggered it, it worked like a charm, while i parallel tried to open the doors with the remote key, but without success. So it was the receiver!

I will write you down the colors of the cables and PIN Numbers:

GM4 High:

Blue/red with yellow dots: Pin 5 / open(Black) in Rearview Mirror, Pin 4 in GM4 Purple connector

White/red with yellow dots: Pin 6 / Close (Green) in Rearview Mirror: Pin 17 in GM4 Purple connector

Pin 4 / Lights on (Blue) in Rearview Mirror ( Didnt check the cable to the GM4 for that)

Please note that colors may vary, but Pins should be same.

12V and Ground can be found in the Glovebox, at the Connector for the Flashlight. I just putted a Diode on these and could use a Test Probe on the connectors of the Rearview Mirror. That makes testing for the Remote / Central locking super easy and hopefully helps some of you to figure out where it goes wrong.

My Receiver Circuit board is actually not broken, but it seems there is an electronic part on it:

Neosid K6 433, this is a Helixfilter and used for Finetuning the frequencies. It seems they have to be glued on, as there are movable screws to change settings. Mine werent and they may just rattled themselves to a different setting, thats why they dont work anymore, as they should. I tried to turn them myself and it improved the functionality, but not to a 100Í%, so i will just get a new Rearview Mirror. Attached a few Pics that may help. Feel free to ask anything if i wrote it unclear or you need help on something. English is not my first language, so it may sounds weird sometimes.
