North Korea Flag Update

North Korea just amended their Constitution, and their flag's aspect ratio changed from 1:2 to 1:1.65

Before Amendment After Amendment
Article 170. The national flag of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea shall have a wide red stripe in the center of the flag, a thin white stripe above and below it, a blue stripe, and a red five-pointed star inside a white circle on the side of the red stripe where it is attached. The ratio of the vertical to the horizontal of the flag is 1:2. Article 166: The national flag of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea shall have a wide red stripe in the center of the flag, a thin white stripe above and below it, a blue stripe, and a red five-pointed star inside a white circle on the side of the red stripe where it is attached. The ratio of the vertical to the horizontal of the flag is 1:1.65.

The first flag is the old flag, and the second flag is the new flag

There was three stores in in Kaesong, and it is said that there was one more convenience store in the Geumgangsan mountain. It was opened as part of the South Korean government's efforts to normalize relations with North Korea.

As for the stores in Kaesong, convenience store in picture 1 was opened in 2004 (as a Familymart), the second store was opened in 2007 (or 2008?), the third convenience store opened in 2013.

Total of nine North Korean employees worked in these three stores. Their monthly salary was around 70 USD.

Two South Koreans, who stayed in North Korea, managed these stores.

All of them are now closed
