Hey everyone! I'm u/Dr_Kaustubh2002, a new moderator of r/VETERetards.
since there are a lot of vet students in this sub that are going to give their ICAR AIEEA PG exam, I’m sharing my exam prep with you guys.
[for those new to this, ICAR conducts the ICAR AIEEA PG exam for selection in PG (MVSc) courses under all India quota (15% in state universities and 100% in IVRI & NDRI).
the exam has 3 subject groups for vet students - animal science, veterinary science, and animal biochemistry & biotechnology. you have to select the group based on what subject you want for PG.] here, I’m only talking about vet science-
start your preparation 2-3 months before the exam by doing a quick revision of all subjects (3-4 days per subject) using your notes or review of veterinary science or vet rapidex (or any book of your choice).
first revise Patho, then micro, then parasito pharmaco and anat, then go for other subjects.
After you have revised the subjects, then go for questions of individual subject using vet rapidex or vet scan or TANUVAS question bank or enanu or whatever you have on you. You can easily solve 50-60 questions in a day, then revise whatever questions you struggled with or got wrong. If you think you were lacking in a particular area then revise that entire section (like 3-4 hours).
Do this till you have completed all questions of all subjects. If you’re not able to complete all subjects then focus on Patho, micro, pharmaco, parasito, and anatomy.
After this, start practice papers (previous year papers & test series available online). You can search previous year papers online (try to not solve them before this), then select a place where you can imitate the exam environment. If exam starts on 12, then you should also start on 12. Set alarm for 2 hours, put your phone away, have only a pen and single sheet of paper along with OMR sheet. Solve the question paper and put your answers on OMR sheet (exam is on computer but OMR sheet practices your time taken to select the answer).
after paper is over, relax for a while. If possible then give the answer key to someone else to check your score. If you think you’re making a guess (tukka) in a question, mark it with a dot. This way you’ll know how many of your guesses are correct. Make sure to revise pharmaco and parasito (if you can’t revise all subjects) a day or 2 before the exam so your memory is fresh.
This is what worked for me, your study style may be different. And feel free to ask any questions regarding the exam. best of luck for your exam 👍
Thanks for being part of this sub. Together, let's make r/VETERetards amazing.
