Do I call it a day on Children of Strife at 60%?

Huge fan of the series but I just can't seem to get into it. I keep spacing out as I read it as it seems to be a lot of tell and not enough show. Too much explaining it seems.

I don't remember the other books being like this...or, if they were, I guess the story in those maybe just resonated with me more? Not sure but something feels a bit off here to me.

Is it worth toughing it out? Does it have a great pay off? I really liked the simulation artifact concept from the last book...so other than what we learned about Alis' experience in said simulation so far, do we end up learning more about the artifact's origins?

If not, hate to be a quitter on a series I love but I think I'm going to have to tap out. As none of the other plot threads in this story (or its characters) seem to interest me very much.

I'm still in early game but it seems to be running pretty well for me just on the default settings. But I'm not super picky or very well versed in optimizing games. Im sure it runs way smoother elsewhere but, whatever, so far so good.

I was itching to play it forever but knew it wasn't really optimized for SD. That said, I heard that there were some improvements since launch, so with the $19 sale, I wouldn't resist anymore.

So glad I did. I absolutely love the game and the experience so far.

Great story, and action. Super cinematic and bombastic.

Hopefully the SD performance continues to hold up as its really enjoyable right now.

If considering, now is the time at $19.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Scribe Colorsoft 64. I have the og Scribe and several older kindles as I mainly read books on it.

But now that the larger Scribe has color, this seems to be a game changer for comics.

I get that the colors will be muted but how is the experience of side loading and reading comics on it otherwise?

Is it going to be a frustrating process just to get it loaded properly? I have used KCC before for mangas which seemed to work alright on my old scribe. So I imagine it will be pretty much the same?

Lastly, I do need reading glasses and will have to probably tap to zoom in often. Is it pretty seamless on the new Scribe Color?

Thanks for any insight!
