The Dioscuri
Over the past few weeks I painted a bunch of minis for The Dioscuri merc company. I'm slightly triggered that I'm at the weird number of 17 units, let me know what else you think would fit!
Some notes:
- The main paints and process were Two Thin Coats Abyss Blue -> Witching Hour Blue -> AP Dark Tone all-over wash -> more Witching Hour Blue -> edge highlights and first lightning bolt layer with Leviathan Blue -> final lightning bolt with AP Bright Sapphire. See the last photo for progress pics.
- The Dioscuri have a Turkina salvaged from the Jade Falcons in 3070.
- Also one of the Field Manual Mercenaries books mentions that they ha the opportunity to buy some Piranhas from the Diamond Sharks, so I did one of those. Here's hoping the future update to Force Manual Mercenaries doesn't reveal that the whole command is destroyed or something, ha.
- The Centurion was an extra Yen Lo Wang that I had and didn't want to see collecting dust anymore. I chopped the arm off, removed the claws, and then reposed it a little. It's missing the LRM that other Cent minis would have, but hey, more room for lightning bolts.
- The Arctic Fox is a 3D print, but I had to have it because The Dioscuri are specifically mentioned as fielding it. Here's hoping we get a plastic CGL mini eventually.
- The side-jumping Stinger was a 3D model that I edited to be a little more... dynamic, ha.
Would love to hear any feedback or comments, or especially ideas for what should be next. I was thinking an Awesome for the lightning bolts. But also probably need a fast medium, hmm.
