Music Box Relic And Trial Solo Gameplay Discussion
MUSIC BOX FULL SOLO GUIDE
I will be updating my entire BO7 Cursed Relics Tips and Tricks Guide once both Totenreich grim relics are found. For now, I will give a comprehensive guide on how to get the relic and trial so that a solo player can get it on every single attempt. The music box is my 2nd least favorite relic trigger probably ever, but least favorite on Totenreich. Only because of the gums required to do it solo. I was able to beat this trial legit first try with this method; I promise this is worth the read if you are solo and struggling with this relic!
TL/DR: Group Zombies on north side door of church past round 60; use 2 decoys, idle eyes, kill joy, temporal gift. Use sniper PAP III or IV to snipe 5 zombies with headshots from Tyr, get the portal. This strategy works virtually 100% of the time in my experience! Prep war machine, kazimirs, cache back, shields up and kill joy (or power keg) before entering trial. Wave 5 of 6 in the trial is the hardest one, best of luck!
RELIC PREPARATION
My recommended game prerequisites are the following but not necessarily mandatory …
- Gameplay: Tier III Cursed, farm as many points as possible before round 30 (if doing elephant relic that’s different)
- Wonder Weapon: Jotunn Star PAP IV ASAP
- Augments (Toxic Growth, Camp Strat) Cordyception, Extra Charge, and Green Thumb
- Augments (Frenzied Guard, For Trial): Frenzy Fire, Extension, Dual Layer
- Perk Augments: Dying Wish (Quick Revive), Expresso (Melee Machiato), Classic Formula (Speed Cola), Dasher (Stamin Up), Free Throw (Mule Kick), Probiotic or Turtle Shell (Jug)
Once you have farmed enough points, use either the jail cell or 2nd floor light house to get to round 60. Then, once you are on the last two zombies of the Round 60 frost round, do the following …
- Equipment: 3 Decoys (Monkeys work as well)
- Gobblegums: Temporal Gift, Kill Joy, Idle Eyes
- Weapon: Ensure any sniper of your choice is legendary and at least PAP III, even for insta kill. I recommend PAP IV.
Pop the temporal gift immediately so you don’t forget. Kill the last frost zombie in spawn, Eidskallen Square or Fishery Island. Start round 61 (or whatever zombie round you are on) in any of those 3 places. The point is to spawn in a nice group of zombies, but be close enough to the desired location. Move towards Skallen Market and wait for the zombies to respawn. Then, make your way to the north side of the church. Now, the next steps are very fast, follow the following process exactly …
- Once you’ve passed the north door of the church, throw a decoy on the snow in front of the door.
- Pop kill joy
- Throw another decoy in the exact same spot.
- Pop idle eyes just in front of the entrance to Tyr’s head.
- Enter Tyr’s head
You should have a group of about 20-25 zombies for you to snipe. I apologize, I don’t have gameplay of it, but this works virtually 100% of the time if you follow the exact order I noted above. At this point, this is all on your sniping ability. Assuming you’ve sniped 5 zombies in the head, you should hear Mr.Peeks, and the portal will spawn on the north side of Fjord Road towards the Dry Dock.
RELIC TRIAL: FIND THE HOLDOUT LOCATIONS AND SURVIVE
The relic trial itself is a little scary, but I promise you it’s not too bad. In my opinion, the worst wave is wave 5 of 6. Here is some quick trial preparation.
I noted the augments in general you should have above. Again, these are not mandatory, but are recommended. Further recommendations, you should have the M1911 mustang and sallys, a Ray gun MKI or MKII up to PAP IV. This is not necessary as the PAP IV Jotunn Star will do most of the work if you have good movement. I also recommend Cache Back, Shields Up and Kill Joy. None of these gums were necessary in my run, but they are good assurance. Fill up your progress bar for Frenzied Guard (switch from Toxic Growth). Finally, get yourself 3 Kazimirs and a war machine. You’ll be able to refill Kazimirs with Cache Back if need be and Mule Kick’s augment Free Throw will sometimes let you use Kazimirs for free. Now to the trial itself ….
Once you interact with the portal, head immediately to the south side of fishery island. The holdout locations are in the following EXACT order …
South Side Fishery Island, Tyr’s Foot, Dry Dock By Melee Machiato, Lighthouse (Using the Spawn Zipline), Eidskallen Square By The Trap, and Skallen Market (By Ammo Crate).
Get to the location quick, the gas cloud will eventually kill you, but it also masks the location of the holdout and will end the game once the timer runs out (I think). At this point, survive by any means necessary. There are no super sprinters, but they are round 60 zombies, I promise it’s manageable. Don’t be shy to throw Kazimirs, throw them if you are overwhelmed, there is usually about 2-3 necropincers each wave from wave 1-3. For waves 1-3, do not pop any gums and try to save the war machine for waves 4, 5, and 6.
Assuming you’ve made it and you get to wave 4, you might be out of Kazimirs at this point. Pop Cache Back on the way to the Lighthouse. Survive wave 4, get to wave 5. Wave 5 has about 6-8 necropincers, so don’t be afraid to use the war machine for a few of them here. You can also use Frenzied Guard if need be for this wave, or feel free to pop your shields up or kill joy depending on your preference. Whatever assured you to kill all of the necropincers. If your survive wave 5, wave 6 goes down to about 3-4 necropincers. Wave 6, do whatever you want. Use the last of your gums, Kazimirs, field upgrade, and war machine ammo to get it done. Stand on top of the table whenever possible!
