I want to get serious with learning to play!

As the title suggests, I finally want to get serious about learning chess! That is why I wrote about it and why I am posting it here now! I am doing this to maybe put a little pressure on myself by telling people on the internet about it. I want to learn chess, but I am afraid to hit that "PLAY" button. Maybe some of you have been there and can give me some tips on how to overcome this fear, or at least how to start making it smaller!

Today I have something special for you. I have always written, and I have always written a lot. Every now and then, the urge hits me to write short stories, and since they have just been sitting on my computer until now, I figured I could just publish them on my blog. I have also always wanted to write a book, and maybe I will do that right here. I can use this blog to publish a chapter every once in a while to tell a story, and then eventually I will have enough for a book. We will see.

So here is the first short story from my hard drive about a mayor who does not really ask for much and a little bee. It has been a while since I wrote this story. I still like the story anyway.

Stop paying for fitness apps you never use.

We’ve all been there: trapped in subscription fatigue and overwhelmed by "ultimate" transformation programs. I finally found a way to break the cycle without spending a cent.

No ads, no paywalls, just movement. Here is how I integrated a free, high-quality resource into my daily workflow to stay active while working a desk job.

I am doing this whole blogging thing because it is fun and because I have something to say. But I have to be honest, if some money came together to cover the hosting fees, I would not say no. For that reason, I have been thinking about what monetization options are out there besides just running Google Ads.

Ever find yourself staring at your phone at 2 AM, feeling increasingly anxious but unable to look away? You’re not alone...and it’s not just a lack of willpower.

I’ve been digging into the mechanics of doomscrolling lately. It’s a perfect storm of brain chemistry and platform design that keeps us hooked on bad news. I just put together a deep dive on how to reclaim your focus and build better digital boundaries.

Key Points:

- Why negative news hits our dopamine receptors differently.
- Why moving your apps is more effective than "trying harder."
- How to filter the noise without losing touch with reality.
