3rd grade teacher here.
Y'all, I have this sweet heart in my class that I would've said was very bright. Good grades, good attitude for the most part.
We did plant life cycles a few weeks ago. Today they had to read a passage on trees and my sweet doe-eyed child calls my name and points out how strange it is that the passage says the trees take in our carbon dioxide and releases oxygen "like you told us."
So I question why it's strange, and she just thinks it's funny that we both said the same thing. Y'all I'm flabbergasted at this point. I tell her it's because it's true, like it's a real thing that really happens. And she just goes, "oh" with a mistrustful look on her face.
20 days left of school and it turns out one of my best students thought I made everything up.
I seriously don't know what to do with this alarming information.
