Free throw discrepancy. -19 is actually insane. It’s an anomaly, and it’s a guarantee to not happen again the rest of the series.
Buzzer beaters. 6 points from buzzer beater prayers in one game. Almost a guarantee to not happen again this series. To expand on this 3 point anomaly, Dean Wade took Cade Cunningham out of the game for majority of the game. Somehow, DET was still able to go 10/26 from 3. Meaning, the supporting cast for DET was hitting threes at a much higher rate than they typically do.
Thomas Bryant being a liability on both ends of the floor. It’s time to bury this dude at the end of the bench.
Kenny did get out coached tonight. He benched JA in the first half due to foul trouble… just to NOT play him the second half? Just let him foul out if you are going to do that. Very puzzling.
Lastly, DET and CLE both landed flurries of punches tonight. Sparking runs etc. It just so happens that DET landed the last flurry feeding Duren at the end of the game with JA being benched. Again, some questionable coaching decisions to end the game.
Overall, I feel VERY good about the Cavs going forward in this series just by cleaning up reasons 1 and 2. Even if the turnover problems were to continue.
