I call it BuyAngle. It’s a spin-off of a product picker site I previously built a few years ago called SimplyBuy.
The idea is that every TV purchase is basically a tradeoff between performance, size, and affordability. You can’t maximize all three. So I made an interactive UI that makes that tradeoff feel intuitive and instantly turns your preference into TV recommendations.
A few things I learned while building it:
- The best part of vibe coding this was being able to quickly test new ideas without wasting a ton of time. I could improve the layout, tweak the scoring, change the labels, and see what felt right almost immediately.
- It also changed how I judged the idea. Instead of thinking about whether the concept sounded good in theory, I could actually use it, feel where it was confusing, and keep adjusting from there.
- The rough version came together fast, but the real work was in refining the details. Vibe coding gets you to a working prototype quickly, but you still need to be intentional about what “good” actually means and have a clear vision for how to improve the UI/UX.
Still tuning the algorithm, but I genuinely think this is becoming one of the most intuitive ways to answer “what TV should I buy?”.
