Last week my washing machine leaked several gallons of water. After shutting the water off I found it was gushing from right inside the machine at the inlet valve. No issues in 12 years of use. Is that just wear and tear?

I'd also like to note that at the same time, an AC service man was cleaning my condenser with an outdoor spigot which is located right on the other side of the foundation to where the washer is. Could that be related? Something with the water pressure? Seems like too much of a coincidence.
