For those struggling with dropping weight and responding slower - this is for you. I am one of those people that didn’t respond quickly to the 2.5mg dose.
I started on March 1st and am on shot #9 (10th shot to be taken this Saturday). I was on 2.5mg for the first 4 weeks then went up to 5mg for the next month, and just went up to 7.5mg. I literally did not feel any change or difference with the 2.5mg. It was pretty discouraging but I bumped up to 5mg the 2nd month and I felt some slight changes to food noise but nothing drastic. I would say I started to finally feel some food noise after the 3rd or 4th shot on 5mg. I decided to stick with my doc’s recommendation to go up to 7.5mg and now I’m finally feeling less food noise! Since the tail end of the 5mg shot, I noticed I was getting fuller quicker and definitely eating smaller portions since I couldn’t eat very much from feeling super full.
From the chart shown here, you can see my weight finally started dropping after the 3rd/4th 5mg shot and it’s slowly been dropping since then. I started working out at F45 4-5x a week doing functional strength training and going on 2.5-5mile walks. Cleaning up my diet has been the hardest but i’m making slow progress each week trying to prioritize protein and eating more greens. I notice my side effects goes off the rails when I’m eating fattier foods. Nausea increases and I also experienced crazy heart burn for the first time. I never have heartburn and that experience was wild for me. I was extremely uncomfortable for a couple days and then it went away. I’m learning that your body responds negatively when you’re not eating well.
My experience has aligned with the slow responders and I just want to share encouraging words to those struggling, to stay patient and don’t give up! Every body is so different. I’m learning that we’re all on our own journey and we can’t compare ourselves. I’m happy to finally see some progress and I’m hoping I can stay on 7.5mg for a while. Hope this helps someone!
