5 month old puppy won’t stop barking
Hello,
I have a 5 month old Friese Stabij (stabyhoun) male puppy.
He is super friendly and curious towards other dogs and people and never had bad experiences - he was exposed to these since 8 weeks old.
We kept a routine of nap - walk - play - chew/relax -nap during the day.
I am not sure if it is just a coincidence, but two weeks ago we went a bit out of that routine as I had family over. He was sleeping and saw one of my family members moving at night in the house, and since then he started alert barking/growling at home because of noises, or just randomly, to the point that he would wake up from naps or sleep at night just barking (not being able to settle, also laying more frequently at the door).
On top of that, he also started to bark at people, or random objects outside. Once those people/things are close to him he is sweet and calm.
Did you go through this with your dogs as well, and how to avoid it becoming a habit? Any tips?
He is also still teething.
