Hi, so i'm thinking about my first NAS, but i want it to be a simple extension of my computer. I want to connect to the NAS with direct ethernet.

I'm wondering if the ethernet will be able to power off and on the NAS device without much hassle.

I do not want to run the nas 24/7 and i also don't want to have an extra device that i need to manage individually.

If this is not a usual simple setup, than i will stay with my 3-5 hdd's in the PC and won't bother spending extra money and time.
