Looking for cheap wireless mechanical keyboard recommendations, UK.

Hello,

I’m simply trying to find a cheapish wireless keyboard and mouse for my work laptop. Around the £50+- mark is absolutely fine.

I’m really looking for those oldish mechanical feels, like the clunky HP, Dell office keyboards.

I’m not requiring RGB or anything or any extra functionality (macro keys etc), just a full sized keyboard with number pad that is wireless!

One that comes to mind is the HP K2500

Not a fan of anything low profile, love the old clunky style keyboards! However it seems like most ones now sold in Argos, Amazon, Currys are all low profile.

Keyboards similar to Keychron / old IBM models!!

Does anyone know of any that have the style I’m talking about? Will be very appreciated!

Kind regards,
DC

I have a set of 3x AXE5400 XE75 decos as of a few days ago. Firmware has been updated to most recent when prompted.

I’ve got my main deco downstairs next to the router, wired and connected - this one stays green and has done since turning it on. My ISP router has been put into modem mode.

The 2 other decos I have as APs have lasted for maybe 30 minutes in the last 3 days of running at a time before disconnecting.

I initially set them up and they were all working as intended, flashing yellow then a constant green. Then suddenly they have both been flashing red ever since very often.

On the deco app, when they were connected they were all 3 bars full and using ookla speed test they all performed the same, max on 6 WiFi for iPhone and then near max isp speeds on WiFi for 6E.

The main deco is situated on the ground floor next to the router. The office deco is one floor adjacent then above, around 5-6 metres away from main. The last AP deco is about 4-5 metres away from the office room directly above the office in an attic room.

Quite often the deco in the office just goes offline but the one in the attic room stays online, but for some reason the entire WiFi is off.

Is there a reason why these decos are not constantly connecting? Is there a setting I need to change? Any information would be helpful!

Do I need to switch around the decos I have to see if that is an issue? I would assume 5 metres and 1/2 walls should not be problem for connection.

Kind regards,
DC

Hello,

I’m looking to purchase either a set of AXE5400 XE75 decos or a trio of them and I’m just looking to see whether I need 2 or 3.

I have a 1gb Virgin Media Hub 5,. With WiFi, it gives me around 600mb right next to the router, 200mb on the 1st floor in my office and then intermittent connection / 150mb in the attic where our bedroom is (second floor).

Would it matter if I bought 3, had one next to the router, then another in my office on the first floor and another on the 2nd floor attic? Or is it okay to just purchase 2 and have one on the ground floor next to the router and office/attic rooms?

Is there any difference of WiFi speeds with the first node being right next to the router or does it have to be as close to the router to get the initial signal from the router?

Lastly, is there any benefit to using the node next to the router as a router and my the hub in modem mode or is it just better to have it as an access point?

Thanks all!
