I’ve been trying to get a general sense of the condition of my house (not buying/selling, just staying on top of things).
A company quoted me £350 for what they described as a “full home condition check”, basically:
- looking at things like damp, structure, electrics
- flagging anything that needs attention
- giving a report on what’s urgent vs not
It’s not a full RICS survey, more like a general overview.
I’m trying to work out is this something people actually do or am I being ripped off?
We’ve got 8 years left on our Premier Guarantee on a new build and so I thought it would make sense to get a formal view of the condition of house, but don’t know if others actually do this too?
Would be interested in what others have done.
